Listed below are the most frequently asked questions by users of Cuba for Remedy©.

Cuba clients cannot connect to the Cuba Server?

Ensure that port 6090 is not blocked by a firewall between Cuba client and server. First check a Cuba client installed locally on the Cuba Server. If that works, then you have a networking problem.

I cannot connect to the Cuba web server for Cuba Administration?

Usually this problem is caused by a different web server running on the Cuba Server. Check the Cuba Server log for an entry:

27/11/2007 10:47:52:0727 http server exception: CSocket::Bind() - Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.

This log entry is created when the Cuba web server cannot start because port 80 is already in use on the serer. Stop the application currently using port 80, often Microsoft Internet Information Server and re-start Cuba Server.

I cannot see my telephone system extensions listed in Cuba client?

This problem is generally due to the telephone system driver, usually a TAPI driver, being incorrectly configured. Refer to your driver documentation for further assistance or contact our support dept.

Will your telephony features work with my telephone system?

To benefit from screen popping, it is necessary to enable caller line presentation. This is generally enabled via your telephone network provider. This item is often referred to as CLIP or caller line identification presentation. In most countries the cost is something like $10 per quarter.

Some features may not be supported by the underlying TAPI driver.

My telephone system requires I dial 9 to obtain an outside line. How does Itel Office deal with this?

Many telephone systems require the user to prefix external numbers with a number, usually 9, to signify that you wish to dial an outside line. Change your Remedy Active link to create a 9 (or whatever the required digit is) before the number to dial.

How do I dial out from a Remedy form?

Create a button on a form and lable it Dial. Create a new Active Link which will be triggered by clicking on the Dial button you created. (Tick Button/menu item and in the Field dropdown select Dial.). Click on the If Action tab and in New Action select Run Process. In the Command Line field enter the following text: %ComSpec% /c Echo DIAL $Telephone number$ > "%APPDATA%\Itel\cubacmd%date:/=% %time::=% %RANDOM%.cub". Give appropriate permissions to the active link. Note that Cuba client needs to be running for the dial to work.
