I am using Microsoft Outlook 98 or Outlook 200 and Itelpop does not seem to pickup the Outlook Contacts

Itelpop for Outlook uses a technology known as Extended MAPI to gain access to the Outlook Contacts. Microsoft released a version of operation in Outlook 98 and 2000 that seemed to disable Extended MAPI. This mode is called Internet Only mode. So the solution is to switch to Corporate or Workgroup mode. To achieve this follow these steps:
  • Launch Microsoft Outlook (This issue should only apply to Outlook 98 or 2000).
  • Select Tools... Options menu.
  • Select Mail Services tab.
  • Click on Reconfigure Mail Support... button.
  • Select Corporate or Workgroup option.
In our experience, making this change is perfectly safe. However, just to be on the safe side, you may wish to backup your personal storage file (pst file) beforehand just in case.

If you have a different version of Microsoft Outlook or making this change still does not allow Itelpop to 'see' your contacts then follow these steps:

  • Launch Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  • Select Tools... Internet Options menu.
  • Select Programs tab.
  • In the Email section choose Microsoft Outlook.
  • Click OK.
This change is necessary because Itelpop for Outlook selects the Default mail profile. We make the assumption that if you use Outlook for your contacts then you probably also use Outlook for your email. If this does not suit your purposes email us on support@iteloffice.com mentioning that you do not want to use the default email profile with Itelpop for Outlook and we will email you a fix.

Will your telephony features work with my telephone system?

If what is known as a TAPI driver is available, then yes, at least some of the telephony features should work. We have tested against the following specific telephone systems:

Panasonic KX Range (Only digital, not analog systems)
Avaya IP Office (Itel Office is an Avaya Developer Community Member)
Samsung DCS range
Dialogic CTI Boards
Creative Labs Modem Blaster PCI Internal
Network Alchemy Office and Branch
Asterisk
CallURL Voice boards

To benefit from screen popping, it is necessary to enable caller line presentation. This is generally enabled via your telephone network provider. This item is often referred to as CLIP or caller line identification presentation. In most countries the cost is something like $10 per quarter.
